Explore the diversity of Toronto on this off-beat food tour. The duration is approximately 4 hours during which 6 to 7 family-run restaurants and "hidden gems" are visited. Tourists and food lovers will re-discover the city through its unique culinary culture. We really believe in touring “like a local” so the tour is designed with an off-beat route through local neighborhoods like Little Portugal and Little Italy. We also walk through a major park, the Art District, and even a secret graffiti alley! All the while learning about the city’s history, culture, and ethnic groups.
Of course, the ultimate treat will be the food experience which promises to ignite the taste buds with unique dishes and flavors while enjoying cozy ambiances with other foodies. Some of the cuisines tasted include Persian, Japanese, Indian, and more!
Well curated foodtour of the different types of cusines from the various cultures in Toronto with Mary, our knowledgable and experienced guide. Highly recommend.
Can not say enough good things. Wonderfully diverse foods in a variety of neighborhoods with a delightful woman. I will remember the Portuguese pastry for the rest of my life, along with the tonkatsu sandwich. Thank you, Mary for the memorable experience.
Foodies take note!!! Visit authentic, family-owned, neighborhood, eateries. Great way to stretch your legs, see the neighborhood side of Toronto and eat some amazing food from multiple cultural backgrounds. I would recommend to friends, would go back again, and I recommend it to you! Did I mention delicious?
A unique walking food tour experience that helped me discover some of the authentic cultural foods in the city! The food and the neighborhoods we walked through reflected the cultural diversity in the city as Tastecapade took us food tasting through Persian, Cuban, Indian, Japanese, Portuguese and Italian delicacies. A few authentic meals were pre-selected for us at every restaurant and the entire group got the chance to enjoy the pleasure of sharing these plates. Some of these also included dessert stops! It was the perfect opportunity to meet new people and enjoy new foods together. And the tour guide was super friendly, entertaining, humorous and knowledgable of the city history and facts. Can't wait for their other tours! Hoping for a vegan one soon! :)
Turned out to be more than just a food tasting tour; It featured lots of historical facts and informations on socio-cultural traits of Toronto and Ontario. It's a nice way to learn about the place in an effortless, easy going and convivial fashion. The guide was very good, he had facts and stories about each street and dish we tasted and good knowledge of the restaurants we were visiting. I would definitely recommend it!
Thanks to my friend, who told be about this tour, I was initiated to the hidden gems of best places to eat and drink in my beautiful city. I live in downtown Toronto for more than 10 years and never heard about these gems existing so close to my place. The tour guide was very friendly and easy going, he introduced us to the exquisite specialties of six different nations and showed us neighborhoods and alleys I never seen. A real pleasure for my taste buds. A pleasant experience, which I look forward to try again with family and friends.
